We are happy to discuss custom shrouds with you. This includes creating a shroud out of fabric you provide such as an heirloom quilt or tablecloth. If you dream it up, we can create it. We can also create custom fabrics to represent you. Contact us directly to discuss a custom shroud.

About Our Design

Our shrouds are gentle enough to lay a person in honor, and strong enough to carry them to final disposition. Use in lieu of a coffin or inside a coffin. We offer simple, unadorned cotton shrouds in two fabrics: natural undyed organic cotton muslin and white upcycled mill-end cotton. We also offer small batch, hand-dyed fabrics and hand-painted shroud pockets as available, and can create custom heirloom shrouds using your unique fabric such as family quilts. All materials are sturdy, biodegradable and compatible with green burial.

Sizing:

We have two size ranges that are customizable to any body height within the range. Our size ranges refer to the height of the person being shrouded. If you need a shroud that is outside of our size ranges, please contact us directly.

  • A shroud is a piece of cloth used to swaddle the body after Death. Shrouds can be a simple bedsheet, or an elegantly designed garment with pockets, ties, and handles. Our shrouds are made with natural materials like cotton and silk.

  • Shrouding a loved one after Death is a beautiful, intimate experience. Shrouds communicate our care and create a container for all of the love and grief we feel for that person. Shrouds bring gentleness, softness and beauty to the final moments we spend with our loved one.

  • Wrap the body in the shroud after Death. Shrouds are a gorgeous way to lay a person in honor for vigil with the face covered or uncovered. Then, tie the shroud closed and use it to carry the body to final disposition, be it burial, cremation, or aquamation.
